Hello, loyal readers, players, used car owners, and their pets (especially cats, but not only)!

I think it’s time for an update. It’s been a while since I’ve said anything here, and most of what I said last time turned out to be empty promises. There was some personal, family stuff that happened which made it impossible for me to give “If I Dig Too Deep” the attention it needed to be finished for a release this year, so I had to put it back on the back burner for a few months. The hope is that the plan I’d already made for this year will be able to go off without a hitch next year.

BUT!

That doesn’t mean I’ve been slacking off. No, quite the contrary! If you weren’t aware, I’m currently knee-deep (14 episodes, as of yesterday morning) in a serial release on Kindle Vella titled “A Code of Silence”, which you can read by clicking the image below! This story was previously announced under the title “And So It Goes”, but I ended up shelving it due to some real-world stuff that was happening. Now that the smoke from that has cleared, however, I feel like it’s finally time to put it out in the world. In the interim time, I decided upon the new title, which I think fits the story much better.

“A Code of Silence” takes place in the fall of 1989, and follows then-lieutenant Reggie Harper on one of the two biggest cases of his NYPD career as he tracks down a vicious, precise serial killer who keeps leaving the bodies of gang members cut up, blindfolded, gagged (with their own hearts), and tagged as ‘HONORLESS’. The case pushes and pulls Reggie’s professional and personal lives to their absolute limits and leaves him reeling as he is forced to keep pushing forward, hoping all the while he can stop this killer before another victim is left.

So, you know…it’s a feel-good romp! One which I hope you’ll check out!

Episodes will be bi-weekly from here, and I conservatively expect “A Code of Silence” to run through December, maybe even into January (narratively, it’s almost at the halfway point now), after which point it will be published in print for those who want it. Then, from there, God willing, “If I Dig Too Deep” will be my soul focus and I will do my best to have it out by next December. It’s a big book with a lot of moving parts, and I don’t want to rush it and end up marring the whole thing. Sometimes, you just have to take your time!

With that, it’s back to work for me! Go read “A Code of Silence”!
